These photographs of the MARINES' 1928 Rio Coco Expedition, led by Capt. Merritt A. "Red Mike" Edson, offer a striking visual accompaniment to the many documents on this subject included in the East Coast pages.  They are housed variously in the Library of Congress (LOC), the Marine Corps Research Center (MCRC), and in Archives II (USNA2).  Sources are indicated for each.
